Landfill Tours

Landfill tours are offered at Sidegate Lane landfill near Wellingborough. They involve a look at the landfilling and composting processes and an in depth explanation of the complex designs that are now essential to all landfills to minimise environmental impacts. On site is a methane recovery energy plant that generates enough electricity to power the equivalent of 1,500 homes a year. The tours are run during the Summer term and are available to key stage 2, 3 and 4 students as well as higher education groups.
